Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are the English ministry of Semehahn Presbyterian Church which is a part of the Kosin denomination (an Evangelical Reformed and Presbyterian denomination originally based in South Korea). Although we largely operate separately from the Korean ministry, we maintain close ties with them and have joint events throughout the year.

  • If you’re driving up to the church and pass by a corn field — don’t worry, you’re not lost! We’re located in the small town of Laytonsville, MD, but we’re easily accessible from the surrounding suburbs of Montgomery and Howard counties. We’re about 15 minutes from Olney, 20 minutes from Gaithersburg, and 30 minutes from Columbia, MD.

  • Service starts at 12:30pm in the main sanctuary which is the first building you’ll see from the parking lot. Most people attend in casual attire, but feel free to dress however you feel is appropriate. Service lasts for about an hour and we typically have a fellowship meal directly afterwards that everyone is welcome to.

  • Se-Me-Hahn is a Korean anagram to express the identity and the purpose of this church. The rough translation is: Koreans and Americans for world evangelism.
